Invisalign – Is It Right For You?

Have you ever thought about changing your smile? If what you would change involves making your teeth straighter, or more in alignment, Invisalign might be a good option for you!

How does Invisalign work?

If your dental provider determines that you would be a good candidate for Invisalign treatment, a few assessments will need to be made. Your initial appointment will include a series of photographs, measurements, a specialized x-ray called a panoramic, and molds, or impressions, of your teeth. This information is then sent to the lab at Align Technology where a comprehensive treatment plan is developed between the lab and your dentist.

Your treatment plan.

The nice thing about this treatment plan is that you, the patient, can see exactly what the expected result of treatment will be in the form of an animated digital model. You will also have an accurate idea of exactly how long your treatment will take.

What next?

Once you have decided that you would like to go ahead with aligning your teeth, you will have an appointment at your dental office where you dentist (or ortho hygienist) will place composite “buttons” on your teeth to direct the movement. These buttons are what the clear aligner will grab onto and are matched to the shade of your teeth leaving them virtually unnoticeable. This appointment will take approximately one hour. After this initial appointment, you will be directed to change your clear aligners every 10-14 days, and your dentist will see you back every 4-6 weeks to check on your progress.

If changing your smile is something that you have been considering, please don’t hesitate to give us a call! We can help to determine if Invisalign clear aligners would be best choice to suit your needs!
